This detail did not go unnoticed by Adolf Dassler, who was present to fit the players with his company’s boots. The adidas boss, famed for his creativity, was not satisfied with the trousers and asked the Schwahn representative Willi Seltenreich to supply him with some "tracksuits with three stripes down the side of the trousers and sleeves", specifically requesting that the trouser bottoms be ftight-fitting and not of the wide-legged variety".Seltenreich fulfilled the order, but since the design was already too late for the FIFA World Cup, the new tracksuits were first worn by Bayern Munich. Such was the success of the clothing that Schwahn became an exclusive manufacturer for adidas in 1964. A few years later, Adolf Dassler acquired the entire company and, from that moment on, adidas produced their own lines of clothing.In the late 60s and early 70s, increasing problems with trademark counterfeiting prompted Dassler to develop a new logo. In 1972, the famous Trefoil logo was born that would go on to become the company’s official trademark, adorning every item of clothing.
